Vincenzo Schettino nato a Stigliano in provincia di Matera, Professore emerito di Chimica fisica nell’Università di Firenze. E’ autore di quattro libri e di oltre 200 articoli sulle più importanti riviste internazionali di Chimica fisica. E’ socio dell’Accademia Nazionale dei Lincei, socio Onorario dell’accademia Angelico Costantiniana e fellow della Royal Society of Chemistry. Ha ricevuto il premio del Presidente della Repubblica per la ricerca scientifica (2005) e la Medaglia Bonino della Società Chimica Italiana (2011). Terzo posto al Premio Galileo avvenuto il 7 maggio 2015 con il suo libro Scienza e Arte. Chimica, arti figurative e letteratura (Firenze University Press).
